BIOGRAPHY
Hailed for his “sublime baritone” (Arizona Daily Star) with “remarkable ease” (The Independent), Mexican-American baritone Octavio Moreno commands the stage with his voice and presence in both traditional repertoire and new works, bringing an artistry deeply connected to his heritage. His 2024-2025 season included appearances as Laurentino in Cruzar la Cara de la Luna at Lyric Opera of Kansas City and Opera San Antonio, Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia with Arizona Opera, and Escamillo in Carmen at Opera Southwest. In the 2025-2026 season, Mr. Moreno returns to the roles of Laurentino in Cruzar la Cara de la Luna and Moncada in Zorro, joins Opera Las Vegas for their Celebración Latina, and covers the role of Tonio in Pagliacci with Minnesota Opera. Later this season, he will present a concert of Spanish and Latin American music with Opera Idaho. Next season, Mr. Moreno will sing the role of Octavio Rivera y Moncada in Zorro with Utah Opera.
