BIOGRAPHY
Dylan Anthony Morrongiello is known for his “over-the-top committed” portrayals and “stentorian” tenor (Words and Music, Boston Classical Review). Recent season engagements include a return to the Metropolitan Opera as the Second Priest in The Magic Flute. Last season he sang the role of King Caspar in Amahl and the Night Visitors with Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle, Goro in Madama Butterfly with Amelia Island Opera, Syvert Tonseten in Giants in the Earth with South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, and covered Don Pizarro in Chicago Opera Theatre’s Leonora. That summer, he joined the Ravinia-Steans Institute as a fellow, performing varied repertoire including selections from Corigliano’s Mr. Tambourine Man: Seven Poems of Bob Dylan and Poulenc’s Tel jour, telle nuit. In the 2025-2026 season, Mr. Morrongiello sings Don Basilio in Le nozze di Figaro with Amarillo Opera, performs Janáček’s The Diary of One Who Disappeared with the Brooklyn Art Song Society, and returns to the Chicago Opera Theater as the Lottery Agent and Baron Laur in Weill’s Der Silbersee. He also makes his house debut with Minnesota Opera as Beppe in Pagliacci.
