Yazid Gray has been described as "a vocal chameleon" (Seen and Heard International) with "a baritone voice of fine quality and warmth" (onStage Pittsburgh). In the 2025-2026 season, Mr. Gray was named a Career Development Grant winner by The Sullivan Foundation. He also made his Carnegie Hall debut with MidAmerica Productions in Mozart’s Coronation Mass/Missa Brevis in D minor, sang the role of Baron Douphol in La traviata with the Berkshire Opera Festival and returned to Pittsburgh Opera as Tommy McIntyre in Fellow Travelers, The Traveller in Curlew River, and Robin in the world premiere of Time to Act (Kaminsky/Manich). Mr. Gray additionally returned to the role of Sam in Trouble in Tahiti and sang in The Filthy Habit with Penn Square Opera. Upcoming engagements include joining Resonance Works as The Businessman in The Little Prince and North Carolina Opera as Morales and Le Dancäire in Carmen.
