BIOGRAPHY
The 2026-27 season sees GRAMMY® Award-winning bass Richard Bernstein celebrate his 31st season with the Metropolitan Opera, the company he has called his artistic home since 1995. He begins his year performing Benoit/Alcindoro in the famous Zeffirelli production of La bohème, while covering in the season-opening production of Verdi’s Macbeth. The rest of the season sees him sing and cover a variety of roles, in operas ranging from Jenůfa and Der Rosenkavalier to Tosca and the English-language version of Julie Taymor’s production of The Magic Flute.
