Originally from San Luis Potosí, Mexico, bass Daniel Noyola recently completed three seasons as an ensemble member with the Bayerische Staatsoper. In 2024-2025, Mr. Noyola sang several roles with the company including Petrus in Der Mond, 2nd Geharnichter in Die Zauberflöte, in Don Carlo, and Wächter in Strauss' Die Liebe der Danae. Other roles have included Pistola in Falstaff, Zuniga in Carmen, and Truffaldino in Ariadne auf Naxos. In the 2025-2026 season, Mr. Noyola looks forward to singing Masetto in Don Giovanni with the Budapest Festival Orchestra led by Iván Fischer at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden.

 

In 2024, Noyola toured with Iván Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra singing Truffaldino in Ariadne auf Naxos with the Spoleto Festival, MÜPA Budapest, and Vicenza Opera Festival. That same year, he was a finalist in the Belvedere Competition in Jūrmala, Latvia.

 

During his residency with the Houston Grand Opera Studio, Mr. Noyola made his house debut as Colline in La bohème, sang Masetto in Kasper Holten’s production of Don Giovanni, and starred in the world premiere of J. Martinez's El Milagro del Recuerdo. Previous engagements have included Mustafá in Rossini’s L’italiana in Algeri (Tri-Cities Opera), Dulcamara in L’elisir d’amore (Sociedad Artística Sinaloense), Uberto in La Serva Padrona and Luka in The Bear (Merola Opera), and Scapin and Der Lautsprecher in a double bill of Gluck’s L’île de Merlin and Ullman’s Der Kaiser von Atlantis (Wolf Trap Opera).

 

Mr. Noyola has won awards in the Career Bridges, Artist Series Concert of Sarasota, New England Region of the Laffont Competition, Mario Lanza, and AIMS Meistersinger competitions, and represented Mexico in the 2019 Operalia competition. Mr. Noyola is a graduate of the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, where he appeared as the title role in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Ferrando in Verdi’s Il Trovatore, Don Alfonso in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, and Raimondo in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. He completed his bachelor studies at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Mexico City.
