
Henna MUN
Praised for her “crystal-clear” (Opera Magazine) voice of a “beautifully expressive variety,” (Broadway World UK), South Korean soprano Henna Mun is quickly establishing herself on international stages. A current Harewood Artist with the English National Opera, Henna was recently named the 2024 John Christie Award recipient at the Glyndebourne Festival, and first prize winner of the 2025 Clonter Award. This season, Ms. Mun made a critically acclaimed principal role debut as Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore with English National Opera, and originated the role of Phyllis in the world premiere of Mark-Anthony Turnage’s The Railway Children with The Glyndebourne Autumn Festival. This season, Ms. Mun returns to Glyndebourne as Nympha in L’Orfeo and as Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro.
Recent operatic highlights include covering Saul at the Glyndebourne Festival and singing as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro with the RCM Opera Studio last season. In the 2023-2024 season, Ms. Munn covered Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare at the Glyndebourne Festival, Gianetta in The Elixir of Love with the English National Opera, and performed the role of Hanna in The Merry Widow at the Royal College of Music. She also recently appeared as Ilia in Idomeneo with Brunswick Vocal Arts.
On the concert stage, Ms. Mun recently sang as a soloist in London’s BST Hyde Park with Andrea Bocelli, and in the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre with Sumi Jo and the Tokyo Universal Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also sung as the Soprano Soloist in Mozart’s Mass in C minor with the Waverley Singers, St. John Passion with the Danesborough Chorus, Ein deutsches Requiem with the Waverley Singers and the Royal College of Music, and Les nuits d’été with the Royal College of Music.
A 2025 graduate of the RCM International Opera Studio, Henna also holds degrees from the Royal College of Music and McGill University, where she studied with Mary Nelson and Dominique Labelle. Ms. Munn was a Glyndebourne Jerwood Young Artist and a member of the Verbier Atelier Lyrique in 2024.
