ALAYSHA FOX

Described as a “shining presence” (Seen and Heard International), soprano Alaysha Fox is quickly making her mark in the world of opera. Ms. Fox recently completed her tenure in the esteemed Domingo-Colburn-Stein young artist program at LA Opera, having showcased her exceptional talent through notable performances with the company including her portrayal of the Female Chorus in Britten's The Rape of Lucretia and the High Priestess in Verdi's AidaIn the 2022-2023 season, Ms. Fox joined the Lyric Opera of Chicago where she covered the role of Elisabeth de Valois in Don Carlos, and in the summer of 2023, she took on the role of Lady Clarence in Saint-Saëns' Henry VIII at Bard SummerScape.

 

Noteworthy performances in recent years include portraying the Bridesmaid in Le Nozze di Figaro (Santa Fe Opera); Giorgetta in Il Tabarro (Opera Santa Barbara); Lady Macbeth in Bloch's Macbeth (MSM Opera Theatre); Erstes Mädchen in Hindemith's Morder, Hoffnug der Frauen, Dorothee in L'amant anonyme and Mary in the world premiere of Carla Lucero’s The Three Women of Jerusalem (LA Opera).

 

Ms. Fox has recently been honored with several prestigious awards. In 2021, she emerged as the winner of the Palm Springs Opera Guild Vocal Competition and was named a finalist in both the Loren L. Zachary Competition and the HGO Concert of Arias. Additionally, her talent was recognized through becoming a grand finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and a semi-finalist in the Elizabeth Connell International Singing Competition. Ms. Fox is also the recipient of the Lotte Lenya Emerging Artist Award and received first prize in the Alan M. and Joan Taub Ades Vocal Competition at MSM.

 

Ms. Fox honed her skills in esteemed young artist programs such as Santa Fe Opera, Chautauqua Opera and Opera Saratoga, and holds both a bachelor's and a master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music.
